Swinging Sixties!

This year's "theatrical" spectacle took place on Saturday 7 July.  The rain clouds cleared and we were blessed with a beautiful evening which commenced courtesy of Stephen & Judy Cockburn with Pimms in the grounds of Marshalls.  We were treated to a fly past and parachute jump thanks to the Haywards Heath Proms event then made our way up to the Queens Hall for a wonderful buffet supper and of course the odd tipple from the bar!

With the audience satiated, the show kicked off and we were treated to a selection of sketches paying homage to the decade but with many a poke at Cuckfield and its residents.  Each sketch was linked with some great pieces from our comperes for the evening – Smashy & Nicey (aka Paul Ruse & Richard Willis) and the talented cast gave us a taste of the World Cup, moon landing, Pete & Dud, What’s my Line & The “Cuckfield” Laugh In interspersed with various musical numbers. 

It was a fantastic show and a credit to Producer Lindy Elphick along with all the cast, musicians, technical and back stage help.  This was Lindy’s last time at the helm so if anyone is game enough to try to fill her shoes, please drop her a line at elphickhouse@hotmail.com and she will give you every assistance.
